As a sexual assault survivor, I would like to encourage, educate and empower people surrounding this topic. I want to be educate people about sexual assault, the true definition, the statistics, resources and prevention. I also want to explore related topics that affect survivors such as fear, anger, shame, bitterness, self-esteem, forgiveness and learning to love again.
I want people to know that there is life after sexual assault. There is hope, God is able and He is faithful. God did not want this to happen to you, He did not cause you to be victimized. The Lord was there with you every step of the way, protecting and comforting you. If you give your hurt, confusion, fear and pain over to Him, He WILL give you beauty for ashes.
Isaiah 61:3 NIV
and provide for those who grieve in Zion, to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
Thank you Lord for loving me, protecting me, leading and guiding me and giving me strength to get through the storm so that I can help others overcome. It was you and only you who kept me sane, who gave me peace, who comforted me when I felt alone and sad. Because of you, I am no longer a victim but a victor. Thank You Lord for every soul that will be blessed by this blog. May ever word bring help, hope and healing. Thank you Lord for my restoration and the restoration of those that read this blog. I am forever in love with you and forever grateful to you Lord.
