Death Could Not Hold Him Down! HE GOT UP!!

Today is Good Friday, the day that Christians celebrate Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. It’s a celebration because on the third day He rose from the dead!!! Death could not hold Him down! Jesus died so that we do not have to live in sin, that our sins could be forgiven, our bodies could be healed and so that we can have life more abundantly. I am forever grateful for the sacrifice Jesus made that day. Crystal Lewis has a song that she sung a long time ago called “You Didn’t Have To Do It,” man I love that song! The chorus goes, I’ll never know why, why you did what you did, you didn’t have to die, but you did. You hung on the cross so that I wouldn’t be lost, you took my place, now you’re pleading my case. You did have to do it, but I’m glad you did. Those words are so personal and true to me. If Jesus hadn’t died for my sins, Lord only knows where I would be; some where messed up, alone and hurting, that’s for sure. Once I accepted Jesus into my heart and truly started walking according to His word, I found a joy and a peace that words can’t describe. I know with God on my side, there’s nothing I can’t do. My sins have been washed away, I am a new creature in Christ. All of this is made possible because of Jesus obedience to die, go to Hell in my place and rise again on the 3rd day! I love you Jesus!!!

On this Resurrection weekend, please remember what Jesus did for you. Take time to say thank you. It’s not about cute outfits and easter bunnies! It’s about Jesus raising from the dead!! HE GOT UP!!

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
