There is so much that I think about when I mediate on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. I feel so grateful that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. That he went to hell for me and rose on the 3rd day
I’m also in awe of the fact that he knew what His purpose was and he planned in his heart to fulfill it, even though He knew it would be painful and difficult, to say the least. He KNEW who he was in Christ. He KNEW what his purpose was. He KNEW that we needed Him to suffer, die and rise from the dead so that our sins would be forgiven. Glory to God I’m getting excited as I type this!!
The 3rd thing I think of is how patient and forgiving Jesus was with the people. Judas sold him out to the chief priest and the elders. Jesus knew they were coming so he had prayer before and He quietly went in peace when they arrived. The people yelled “crucify him,” unjustly and demanded that Pilot free a convicted criminal over Him. The people spit on Him, called Him names, put a crown of thorns on His head, mocked Him and nailed him to a cross. Never did my Jesus curse anyone out, roll his eyes/neck or give anyone a piece of His mind. He loved us so much that He looked past their faultless, anger and disrespect towards Him. He didn’t let His emotions sway His decision to die for us!
This weekend, let us all remember the price that was paid for each and every one of us. Let us be forever grateful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his obedience and sacrifice. Let His love walk be something that we call strive to get to; loving those that lie on us and attempt to do harm to us. We must all remember to walk according to the word and allow God to fight our battles! Jesus took it ALL on the cross for us so that we do not have to be sick, depressed, in poverty, in fear, full of drama, hurt or pain. He died so that we can have life and have it more abundantly. The story of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection can be found in Matt 26-28.
Have an awesome and safe Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.
HE GOT UP!!!!!!!!! GOD RAISED HIM UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Romans 5:8-9 (Amplified Bible)
8But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.
9Therefore, since we are now justified ([a]acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God.
